Three In Court Over Alora Cult
Three men, Rotimi
Oluwasola, 30, Shittu Babatunde, 25, Lawal Olatomiwa, 25, on Wednesday appeared
before an Ado-Ekiti Chief
Magistrates' Court over alleged cultism and illegal
possession of firearm.
The defendants, whose address were unknown, are facing a
two-count charge of membership of Alora confraternity secret cult and one of
them in possession of firearm.
Police prosecutor, Inspector Johnson Okunade, told the court
that the accused committed the offences on November 8 in Ado-Ekiti. He claimed
that the defendants confessed to be members of Alora confraternity secret
cult.
Okunade also said that Lawal Olatomiwa did become an
accessory after the fact of felony, when he attempt to cover up Oluwasola,
known
to have committed the offence of unlawful possession of
firearm.

The offences contravened Section 64 and 519 of the Criminal
Code, Law of Ekiti State, 2012.
The defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The defendants counsel, Mr Odunayo Okunade, urged the Court
to grant them bail, with a promise that they would not jump bail.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Adesoji Adegboye, granted each of
the accused N200,000 bail with one surety in like sum.
The case was adjourned till December 18 for
hearing.
