David had reportedly arrived at the country from Dubai on an
Emirates flight with luggage numbering 17, which Kayode allegedly refused to
allow officials of the checkpoint verify.
According to an airport source who spoke to Sahara
Reporters, whenever David arrives at the airport, he leaves his luggage to crew
members to clear, and goes out the terminal to dole out money.
People arriving are expected to release their tags to
checkpoint officials for confirmation and verification, the source said.
Kayode, however, refused to release the tags, which led to
an argument.
Sahara Reporters reports that Kayode punched a checkpoint
staff in the face, and beat up another airport staff at the baggage claim area.
He was promptly restricted, reports claim, and was taken to
“Tango City,” where unruly persons are said to be held before are fetched by
the police.
While at Tango City, Kayode again reportedly beat up a
female AVSEC official, and another customs official who cut his wrist on an
industrial fan.
The eyewitness claimed the fight eventually caught Davido’s
attention, and he returned, trying to secure his luggage.
His luggage was however not released to him as at last
night. The eyewitness said:
Whenever Davido arrives at the airport, he usually leaves
his check-in luggage for his aides to clear. Immediately he arrives on a
flight, he goes out and will start doling out money outside the terminal.
“Today, he arrived as usual with several luggages and about
17 in all. The rule is that whenever you arrive, you are expected to release
your tags to the Checkport staff for confirmation and verification, but rather
than comply with the simple rule, one of his aides insisted he won’t allow them
to check the tags.
“He rebuffed everyone who were carrying out their lawful
duties and resorted to attack the officials. No fewer than four officials were
beaten by the person in question with at least two of them soaked in blood.
“When he was uncontrollable, he was bundled into the cell
and he insisted that he must be taken to a police station. This however,
attracted Davido’s attention who was already out of the terminal. He had to
return, but the security officials refused to hand over the luggage to him. One
of the luggage we even gathered contained some money in foreign currencies.
