RMD, Odunlade Adekola, Others For FON

Total Television Studios and Orangeseed International are set to host the second edition of the Face of Nollywood (FON) Awards.

Organisers say the award is designed with the aim of discovering the most popular Nollywood personality. The event comes up June 30, 2018 at Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.

They say the reward system stands out because movie lovers will get to pick the winners themselves.

“Already, 162 popular acts, made up of veterans and newbies have been lined up as contestants for the award; among them are Richard Mofe Damijo (RMD), Patience Ozokwor, Daniel K Daniel, Kate Henshaw, Genevieve Nnaji, Odunlade Adekola, Pete Edochie, Funke Akindele, Halima Abubakar, and a host of others,” CEO, Total Television Studios, Ifeanyi Ikpoenyi said.

Welcoming guests to the unveiling, the project coordinator, Andy Chukwu, said that he had no iota of doubt that Nollywood has remained impressionable, despite its achievement not being recognised.

“The Nigerian film industry has given jobs and put food on the table of many Nigerians, aside making people happy. Sadly, the industry players have remained unsung heroes.

This is the major reason we have decided to make something different this year. Not only will major industry players be recognised, we have also decided to look beyond the industry to recognise all those who have in different ways contributed to the growth of the industry in Nigeria,” he stated.
