Who Will Sell The Mo’hits Reunion Concert?
Since
the defunct of Mo’hits Records, their fans have always wondered if they will
ever get to see the acts on the label perform together again.
In December 2017, fans got a taste
of Mo’hits Records when members of the group including Don Jazzy and D’banj
took to stage to entertain guests who attended Davido’s Nigeria 30 Billion
Concert.

With that performance, came more
hope that the label was likely to bounce back.
While nothing concrete has been
said about Mo’hits Records coming back together, one thing which has been
confirmed is a Mo’hit Records reunion tour. Indeed, Don Jazzy and D’banj have
confirmed that the tour will hold with insinuations that it will take place
both in Nigeria and abroad.
Interestingly, one question which
has however not been asked is who will sell the concert, bearing in mind that
most of the musicians who once made Mo’hits Records tick have either moved on
or frizzled out.
In 2011, when Mo’hit Records went
defunct, it had Don Jazzy, D’banj, Wande Coal, Dr. Sid and D Prince on its
bill. Presently, it is safe to say that only Wande Coal can be considered
an entertainer based on present antecedents. This is not to say that even Wande
Coal is presently hot.
Don Jazzy despite his several
collaborations has never really been considered a musician, as his creativity
and ability to produce is what has really stood him out. The duo of Dr. Sid and
D’ Prince are presently nowhere to be found musically.
This leaves the tour with only
Wande Coal as the viable musician in the pack. Will Wande Coal’s influence be
enough to sell a tour of such magnitude? This is an important question that
requires serious pondering before being answered, unless of course the artistes
who will be a part of the tour will rely on performing their old songs.
