Ambode Joins The Paranoid Governors' Club

Governor Ambode of Lagos is surely one of the most performing governors in the country and this has made him well loved. In fact, there is some sort of cult following for him these days. Say anything negative about him in public and you will see many people quickly rushing to his defense. That is how a leader should be.

But recently, the governor made a move which kind of alienated him a bit from his people. Anytime you pass by Alausa, you can easily drive by or even walk past the front of the governor's office. It used to be open and accessible, unlike other governors where the government house is barricaded streets away and secured like an army barracks.

Ambode's office used to be reminiscent of what we have in more civilised countries where anyone can walk past Downing street in UK or in front of the white house in the United State.

In recent weeks, it seems Ambode has gone paranoid like his colleagues from other states. He has increased the security to the governor office and even blocked off the street leading to it. Doing this cuts off the shortcut that leads to the Mobolaji Johnson Avenue.
This leads to momentous traffic as motorists will have to make an unnecessary turn by the left and will also be at the mercy of the traffic light which was needless.
